Lahore and Gujranwala Dominate Opening Day to Reach Semi-Finals of Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026

LAHORE – The rugby field at the Punjab Stadium, NPSC, came alive with action today as the Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026 officially kicked off its rugby tournament. Following a series of intense matches on February 12, the top four teams have secured their places in the semi-finals.
Lahore and Bahawalpur Showcase Dominance
The standout performance of the day belonged to the Lahore team, who announced their title ambitions with a crushing victory. In the second match of the day, Lahore overwhelmed Faisalabad with a massive 45-0 scoreline, keeping a clean sheet and displaying superior attacking form.
Bahawalpur also displayed defensive perfection in their clash against Sahiwal. Dominating possession and territory, Bahawalpur cruised to a 25-0 victory to book their spot in the next round.
Gujranwala’s Double Victory
The path to the semi-finals was most grueling for Gujranwala, who had to secure two victories in a single day. In the tournament opener (Match #01), Gujranwala defeated Rawalpindi in a close contest with a score of 12-5.
They returned to the field later in the evening for Match #05 to face Sargodha (who had a bye in the first round). Continuing their winning momentum, Gujranwala shut out Sargodha 10-0 to confirm their semi-final berth.
In the day’s tightest contest, DG Khan edged past Multan with a score of 20-14 in Match #03 to keep their medal hopes alive.
Semi-Final Fixtures Confirmed
With the initial rounds concluded, the semi-final stage is set for tomorrow, February 13, 2026. The matchups promise high-stakes action:
1st Semi-Final (14:00 – 14:30): Lahore vs. DG Khan
2nd Semi-Final (14:30 – 15:00): Bahawalpur vs. Gujranwala
The winners of these ties will face off in the Grand Final scheduled for February 14, 2026.
