Punjab Rugby Teams Secure Double Podium Finish at 35th National Games 2025

Karachi – It was a day of celebration for Sports Board Punjab as both their men’s and women’s rugby teams secured medals at the 35th National Games in Karachi, showcasing the province’s growing dominance in the sport.
The event, which gathers the country’s top athletic talent, saw Punjab’s rugby squads delivering commanding performances against tough opposition.
Women’s Team Clinches Silver
Leading the charge was the Punjab Girls’ Rugby team, who fought hard throughout the tournament to reach the podium. After a series of gruelling matches, the team finished their campaign with a well-deserved Silver Medal, adding a prestigious accolade to the province’s tally.
Men’s Team Dominates for Bronze
The Punjab Boys’ Rugby team ensured the celebrations continued by securing the Bronze Medal. In the crucial playoff match for 3rd and 4th position, the Punjab side faced off against the Police team. It turned out to be a one-sided affair, with Punjab showcasing superior tactics and physical conditioning. The team kept a clean sheet, overwhelming the Police squad with a decisive 29-0 victory to secure the third spot.
A Successful Campaign
These victories highlight the successful training programs under the Sports Board of Punjab and the dedication of the athletes who have travelled to Karachi to represent their province. With a Silver in the women’s category and a Bronze in the men’s, Punjab has firmly established its presence in the national rugby circuit for 2025.
